LBP MITRATAMA TO BOOST SMKN 1 MIMIKA
Steve Potter, General Manager of PT Trakindo Utama, Tembagapura Division, presented the engine symbollicly to SMKN 1 Mimika’s Headmaster Demianus Mandesy who was represented by Maurits Kawer. The handing-over ceremony took place on Friday, November 23rd, 2007, at SMKN 1 Mimika, Papua, East Indonesia.
The ceremony was opened with traditional tribal dancing of Kamoro and Paniai, followed by the engine’s key hand-over, after which they both turned on the engine.
 
The ceremony was attended by local government officials such as Mr. M. Tampubolon, Papua Province’s Chief of Specialty and Mid-Educational Board, Bartholomeus Kunong, Timika Sub-District’s Head of Mid-Education and Learning Advancement, and Andi Makmur, Head of Lembaga Bantuan Pendidikan Mitratama (LBP Mitratama), which is also a subsidiary organization under PT Tiara Marga Trakindo.
Andi Makmur said in a statement that SMKN 1 Mimika is the tenth Technical Speciality Middle School that formed a partnership with LBP Mitratama. Steve Potter also hoped that this collaboration will boost SMKN 1 Mimika’s educational development and curriculum’s advancement in the future.
