Posyandu for the people of Magani Village, Sorowako

­­­­ Being responsible for the community and its environment, PT Trakindo Utama Sorowako built two units of Pos Pelayanan Terpadu-Posyandu (Integrated Healt­h Services Post) for the people of Magani Village, Luwu Timur, Sorowako.­ The construction which commenced on December 2007 was completed on April 2008 and the handing-over ceremony took place on April 14, 2008. Eddie Bevans, General Operations Manager PT Trakindo Utama Sorowako, handed-over the keys of two houses to the local government of Luwu Timur, Sorowako, witnessed by several local government chiefs and Trakindo Sorowako employees’ representatives.

Ade Chandra, Sub-district Chief (Camat) of Nuha received the keys appreciatively. “On behalf of Luwu Timur government and the people of Magani Village, I express great appreciation for Trakindo’s CSR program which would help many people in Magani. I have never seen such beautiful and sophisticated Posyandu in Luwu Timur, this is the first time for me,” he said after receiving keys from Eddie.

The Chief of Magani Village, Ir. Nasrum Makassau also expressed the same. He said he was very proud of Trakindo’s contribution in developing the community of Luwu Timur. Trakindo’s affection the community is something should be appreciated, he continued.

“The reason why we initiated to build Posyandu was because Trakindo has always thought that children are our future assets. We wished that through both units, we could participate in improving Mother and Child healthiness,” Eddie responded.

Being responsible for the community is not always come from the company. Trakindo has always support its employees to feel responsible for the community and environment by involving them in several activities such as: Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) awareness program, Emergency Response Team for Natural Disaster, Trakindo’s in cooperation with several educational institutions, and many others.
