On the 27th of March 2009 the whole nation was shook by a disaster that happened in Situ Gintung, Cirendeu, Tangerang, Banten. An embankment collapsed, and in split second houses and residents were swept away by rapid currents.
It didn’t take long before various organizations, institutions and community members came to the rescue and helped the victims. Trakindo also lend a hand—PT Trakindo Utama and PT Sumberdaya Sewatama worked in tandem to help the team from National Disaster Management Agency.

Remnants of the shattered houses, along with piles of mud, created debris that was difficult to be cleaned manually. To help clean the location, Trakindo provided two units of Wheel Loader (924 and 914) and a dozer D3 that were operated on location in the 31st of March-3rd of April 2009 period. Trakindo provided three operators and four technicians to stand by on ground zero. Almost every day the management team from Head Office came to monitor the situation.
