The certificate of appreciation was handed over in a ceremony held on November 1, 2008 which took place at the Office of East Kalimantan Governor, presented by Acting Governor of East Kalimantan. In this event the Executive Board of the Indonesian Blood Donors Association for East Kalimantan and some branches in East Kalimantan Regency were also appointed. In his speech the acting Governor said, "It is expected that this type of initiative can increase the awareness of the members of the society to give their blood. Each year, East Kalimantan needs at least 4000 bags of blood but only 80% can be provided.”
The blood donation activities have become a routine agenda at Trakindo Samarinda - CRC. The blood drive is held every 3 months, coordinated by Ailani (SHE Coordinator).
Besides being the evidence that Trakindo Utama cares for the society who need blood transfusion, this blood donation activity can also improve the donors’ health.
Hopefully such activities can serve as an inspiration for the other branches to continually benefit the community as well as the employees. Back to Article List |
