Trakindo is once again playing a significant role in the effort to improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia following the signing of a collaboration agreement with National Vocational School No. 2 in Sumbawa Besar on 20 August. The formal signing ceremony was marked by the performance of the Nuri dance, which is indigenous to Sumbawa, to welcome the guests. This was followed by speeches by the head teacher of Vocational School No. 2, Drs. Ahmad Yani, and the representative of the Mitratama Educational Assistance Foundation, Harry Harnanto. “The signing of this collaboration agreement marks a major step forward for the progress of human resources in Sumbawa. However, we don’t want such improvements to be marked solely by greater knowledge and skills. Rather, these must also be matched by the personality aspects so that our graduates will be both employable and accountable,” said Sumbawa Besar Regent Drs. Jamaludin Malik. As part of the agreement, Trakindo has donated four engines and one generator, namely 3306, 3456 and 3406 diesel engines and a 3208 genset, to the school to allow the students in the Heavy Equipment Technicians’ Course to gain first-hand experience. The Company has also donated Multimedia Interactive Module (MIM) and Service Information System (SIS) software to facilitate the study of diesel engines. It is expected that the collaboration agreement will benefit not only the school and Trakindo, but also the country as a whole through the upgrading of Indonesia’s human resources.
