New Facility: Applied Failure Analysis Laboratory

As part of Trakindo’s commitment in advancing the skill and knowledge of our customers in maintaining and operating their Cat® equipment, Trakindo introduces the Applied Failure Analysis (AFA) laboratory as its newest addition to the Training Center facility.

This new lab will be used for failure analysis training, that will give participants the knowledge of basic metallurgy, principles of damage in the form of wear failures and fractures, also how to accurately determine and report failure analysis. AFA training is divided into AFA-1 and AFA-2; AFA-1 discusses damage to engine components and AFA-2 discusses damage to powertrain and hydraulic components.

The laboratory began its operation this year and be equipped with new component cabin, desktop PC, monitor display for stereoscopic widefield microscope, dehumidifier, and 4X desk magnifier with lighting. Trainings conducted by our TC are delivered by Caterpillar certified instructors (CIAP) equipped with Caterpillar standard teaching methodology in order to guarantee the competency of participants.
